My husband and I have lived in Laurentian Valley for 25 years and are the proud parents of three sons, a wonderful daughter‑in‑law, and a cherished granddaughter. All of our children graduated from schools within the Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB). As they grew up in our community’s only public school (Rcokwood Public School), I volunteered weekly in their classrooms, supporting students in reading and math. This early involvement sparked a long-standing commitment to education.

I later worked as an Educational Assistant at Rockwood Public School while also driving school bus for many years. From 2010 to 2018, I was elected as the trustee representative for Laurentian Valley and North Algona Wilberforce, all while operating my home‑based business. During my eight-year term, I gained experience across many areas of the education system and remained deeply committed to student success and community engagement.

I served on the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) for seven years, working alongside parents, principals, students, community members, and the Director of Education. I was also a member of SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee), Chair of Program & Personnel Services, and a representative on the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium (RCJTC). I was elected Vice‑Chair of the RCDSB from 2014–2016 and Chair from 2016–2018.

In 2016, I returned to the classroom as a full‑time student at Algonquin College (Pembroke Campus), graduating with honours from the Office Administration – Executive program. Balancing my studies with my responsibilities as Chair of the RCDSB would not have been possible without the unwavering support of my family.

My professional background spans law, healthcare, and emergency services, providing me with diverse experiences and perspectives. Outside of work, I value my time spent with family and friends and enjoy photography and music. I am also committed to serving my local community through my role as the pianist at Wesley Community Church.

In the fall of 2022, I was elected to serve my first term as Councillor in Laurentian Valley. The past four years have been both a learning curve and a rewarding experience. No matter the position, I believe strongly that effective leadership is built on teamwork, respect, and collaboration. I am grateful for the team I have had the privilege to work with and learn from, and I value the respectful environment we maintained even when opinions differed.
